Building a Pattern Stock

A pattern stock is used in a stock duplicating machine to create the final stock of nearly final dimensions. This process allows the stock to first be shaped so that it perfectly fits the shooter before the final stock is carved from a stock blank. Take a look as Larry Potterfield, Founder and CEO of MidwayUSA, creates a pattern stock using a factory Remington 700 rifle stock, some files, bondo, and a bit of know how.
